Wines 46 Parallel received four highest awards at the All-Ukrainian tasting competition “Odessa Bay 2020”
The 46 Parallel wines received four awards within a blind tasting among 178 samples presented by 38 Ukrainian wine producers. The highest rating among sparkling wines was given to Grand Admiral Brut Nature, which will be presented to the consumer this fall. Made by the classic method of champagne with aging on precipitate for 20 months, in a blind tasting it was recognized by experts as the best in its category.
The gold of the competition and the recognition of experts went to red dry vintage wine from the author’s premium collection – Grand Admiral Merlot. Aged for 24 months in oak barrels of the famous French cooper Seguin Moreau and at least 12 months in the bottle, it has the potential to be aged in the bottle for another 5-7 years.
The treasury of awards was also replenished with red dry vintage wine from the premium collection – Grand Admiral Cabernet-Sauvignon-Saperavi-Merlot. The wine is aged for 24 months in oak barrels of the famous French cooper Seguin Moreau and at least 12 months in the bottle, and has the potential to be aged in the bottle for another 7-9 years.
El Capitan Róse róse dry wine from the limited collection of exquisite light premium El Capitan wines was also highly praised by the professional jury, as evidenced by the silver award and experts recognition.
The presented wine samples were evaluated by a jury consisting of recognized professional tasters, qualified experts with 3 and 4 levels WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) certification. Maximum transparency and reliability of both tasting process and its results were ensured through the use of blockchain technology. The use of modern encryption algorithms has made it possible to protect evaluation results so that they are as independent and objective as possible.

We would like to recall that El Capitan Pinot Gris and El Capitan Rosé wines of the 46 Parallel brand have been recognized as winners of the Black Sea Craftsmen’s Association – En Primeur – 2019 competition in the respective nominations. Also, our wines, representing Ukrainian winemaking on the international arena, in particular, in Paris and New York, have already received positive feedback from 10 world experts from 8 countries.
